Makai moved to New Jersey to play agility (and obedience and tracking) with Gail Kraeuter and Chelsie. Makai started her career by passing the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) at 8 months of age and her Therapy Dog International (TDI) certification at 14 months. Since then Makai has consistently shown her versatility in tracking, obedience and agility.
She earning her Tracking Dog (TD) title at 15 months of age, finished her RN title at 17 months and earned her CD title in three straight trials with placements, including a class win, at 20 months of age. She finished her CDX by three years of age and is dabbling in Utility now.
At 22 months, she started in agility finished her OAJ and OAbefore she turned two. She then went on to complete her AX and AXJ on the weekend of her 2nd birthday. She finished her MX and MXJ titles by three and her MACH right after her 4th birthday. She finished her Master FAST title in May 2009, her MACH2 in June 2009 and her MACH3 in June 2010. Makai has also qualified for the AKC Agility Nationals for the last three years. In October 2010, Makai ventured into the conformation scene and earned her CCA under three breeder-evaluators, Sandra Dunn, Elizabeth Greenfield and Cheryl Blair.Makai became our first MACH4 in December 2011. Although MACH4 is always a great accomplishment, it is a particularly great achievement in this case since Makai suffered a very serious brain infection in March 2010. Gail wasn’t sure she would survive, let alone walk again. Running agility seemed out of the question. Yet Makai had other plans and with Gail’s help, she regained her balance, strength and stamina. Congratulations to this amazing team!
