Dexter is an amazing partner and companion with rock solid temperament. He is a serious and sensitive boy that lets his sense of humor shine through. He can melt your heart with one paw and a golden smile. I always marvel at how wonderfully balanced he is, both physically and mentally. At 12.5, he’s still very active and loves agility and chasing balls. He absolutely loves raw veggies and fruit of all kinds. Asparagus, celery and cabbage are his favorites, and he goes bonkers over tangerines. His one funny quirk is that he will absolutely not give kisses, which is pretty rare for a golden.

Dexter has taught me more than any other dog I’ve owned. He has excelled in Agility and Barn Hunt, but most importantly, Dex has made me understand that the love of the game far exceeds titles and paper achievements. He saved my heart from the untimely loss of my first golden, and many difficult losses, including that of my husband. I am so thankful to have been given the honor of being his person. He is my comfy sweater, my better than butter, my ultimate mama’s boy.
