“Cruise” stayed in the area to live with Blanche, Carol, Kite and Chase. He was named for the Oliver Stone movie, Born on the 4th of July that starred Tom Cruise. Cruise, Blanche and Carol are tackling agility, hunt tests, tracking and perhaps conformation and obedience.
Cruise earned his GRCA Working Certificate on his first attempt at 13 months and his JH by 14 months of age. He passed the GRCA’s Certificate of Conformation Assessment (CCA) on his first attempt under breeder-judges Doug Windsor, Cindy Partridge, and Laureen Kinney.
Cruise earned his first Senior Hunter leg in October 2011 and finished his title the next summer. He is strong in the water and handles nicely. He is also training in agility and looks like he will be a fun competition dog.
Cruise is a wonderful companion and working dog for us. He is our very first MACH and Master Hunter dog. Much of that accomplishment is to his credit, as Cruise has always simply done what he’s been asked to do. It’s been a lot of fun learning how to handle in two sports, and we couldn’t have had a nicer dog to work with. And he’s always a joy at home.
