Brew lives in Pennsylvania with Lee Clark and Dave Carpenter.
Lee says:
After training several obedience dogs before her, Brew was my first Obedience Champion (OTCH). She has a natural talent for heeling, and when you are by her side it feels like she is floating on air. Being her partner in the ring is a thrill that I will never forget. She earned many High in Trial awards at a young age, and entered the Golden Retriever Obedience Hall of Fame by the time she was three. She competed at the AKC Classic, Westminster Masters Obedience, and the 2019 AKC National Obedience Championship.
Brew is also my first field dog and she has a real passion for the sport. She and I learned it together, and it wasn’t easy at first to convince her that she needed me to play the game! I was so proud when we earned her Senior Hunter title, proving we could communicate and really be a team.
Brew adores people, tolerates dogs, and demands respect. She is very smart and often silly. She loves to greet people with a shoe or glove in her mouth, singing her heart out. Her signature trick “Say Please” – which she taught me instead of the other way around – is to sit up and paw the air rapidly with both front feet. It usually wins her whatever she wants. Her favorite activity is swimming in a river or stream, where she heads right out into the middle to explore every eddy and surf the current.
