“Brass,” who was was named for the wonderful R & B group, Earth, Wind and Fire. moved to Virginia with our dearest friend, Rosie Higdon.
Brass started his performance career early by passing the CGC and earning his Junior Hunter title at 15 months. He continued to play in the field earning his WCX and SH but also tackled obedience, rally, nosework and barnhunt. He excelled in every sport but it was in Rally that he and Rosie found their joy. Seeing the two of them in the ring is to understand the partnership that Rally allows dogs and people to reach.
In 2015, Brass was ranked by _Front and Finish_ as the #1 Golden Retriever and #3 All-breed in Rally. That year, Rosie and Brass placed 3rd at the AKC Rally National Championship.
On 1 February 2019, Brass became our first AKC Rally Champion, awarded because of his amazing career over the past decade in the rally ring. Congratulations to my dear friend Rosie and this fabulous team!
