• NEW CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMATION ASSESSMENT AND VERSATILITY CERTIFICATE! Reese, U-CD Gaylan's P'Nut Butter Cup Sundae CD TD JH WCX VC CCA CGC (Sharon Albright) passed the GRCA's CCA, under breeder-judges Laurie Doumaux, Barbara Pepper and Cindy Williamson. The CCA title also qualifies Reese for the GRCA's Versatility Certificate.
• NEW CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMATION ASSESSMENT! Jig, Gaylan's Irish Ceili Dancer OA OAJ XF CCA O-NAC O-NCC O-NJC O-TN-N TG-N O-WV-N (Sandy Ziemski) passed the GRCA's CCA, under breeder-judges Laurie Doumaux, Barbara Pepper and Cindy Williamson. Jig also picked up an MXF Q, earning 79 points in 27 seconds.
• NEW COMPANION DOG AND HIGH IN TRIAL! Ivy, Gaylan's Thaleia CD RE TDX JH WC (Vicki Chaney) finished her Companion Dog (CD) title with a 198.5 for 1st place and High in Trial and another 197 for her third class win.
• NEW RALLY NOVICE! Remi, Gaylan's Wild Fly'n Kansas Quail RN JH (Vicki Schmidt) earned his Rally Novice title.

• Catcher, Gaylan's Catch a Rising Star UD AX OAJ OF OBHF CGC (Sandy Washburn) took High Combined for his eighth UDX leg, with a 1st in Utility B and a 2nd in Open B.

• Catcher, Gaylan's Catch a Rising Star UD AX OAJ OBHF CGC (Sandy Washburn) took High in Trial and High Combined with a 197+ in Open B and a 195.5 in Utility for his seventh UDX leg.
• Tango, UH HR Gaylan's One Step Atta Time UD SH MX MXJ XF RE WCX ADHF CGC (Pat and Randy McKinney) QQd with a 1st and 4th places to qualify for the 2011 AKC National Agility Championships. Tango was run by Paula Orcutt since Pat is still recovering from foot surgery. Congratulations to the whole Tango Team!
• Brig, MACH2 Gaylan's Brigantine TD SH MXF WC CCA VCX PD2 (Paula Orcutt) earning QQ #58 with a 4th place in Standard.

• Dexter, Gaylan's Duck Creek Wild Turkey RN NA NAJ CGC TDI (Zoe Beatty) earned an Open Standard agility leg with a 2nd place.

• Pam Martin and Dice, Can GMH OTCH Gaylan's High Roller Am CD WCX CCA; Can TD WCX VCX (Pam Martin) have a feature article in the most article in the July-August 2010 Golden Retriever News about their journey to Grand Master Hunter. It's a great read!

• NEW CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMATION ASSESSMENT! Khay, Gaylan's Lady Omar Khayyam VCD2 UDX2 OM1 TD MX MXJ MXF RAE3 CCA (John Runnels) traveled to Dallas to venture into the conformation ring and came home with a CCA.
• NEW WORKING CERTIFICATE EXCELLENT! Chase, Gaylan's Free Run Chardonnay JH NA OAJ WCX CCA (Blanche Wisniewski & Carol Stepczuk) passed the GRCA's WCX test in fine style.
• NEW WORKING CERTIFICATE! Cruise, Gaylan's Born on the 4th of July WC (Blanche Wisniewski & Carol Stepczuk) passed the GRCA's WC test.
• NEW WORKING CERTIFICATE! Nick, Gaylan's Olde St Nick, Naughty or Nice JH WC (Jack Belicka) passed the GRCA's WC test at 9 months.

• All Star Tournament Results!! A number of Gaylan's dogs went to the 2010 All Star Obedience, Rally and Agility Championships and came home with ribbons. Congratulations to all who qualified for this prestigous event, as well as those who won or placed!
  • Zahra, Gaylan's Fire in the Sky CDX (Deb D'Elia) WON the Open Obedience Division with only 5.5 points lost over three rounds. Zahra was also on the 2nd place obedience team, with her brother Bounce and Betsy Scappichio's Chloe.
  • Reese, U-CD Gaylan's P'Nut Butter Cup Sundae CD TD JH WCX CGC (Sharon Albright) WON the Novice Obedience Division with only 3.5 points lost over three rounds.
  • Catcher, Gaylan's Catch a Rising Star UD AX OAJ OBHF CGC (Sandy Washburn) placed 7th in the Super Star Obedience Division and was on the winning Obedience Team.
  • Bang, Gaylan's Fire When Ready TD JH AX AXJ OF RN WC (Pat Kavanagh) placed 10th in the Open Obedience Division and 8th in the 20" Agility Division, putting him 4th in the Ultimate Dog Competition.
  • Bounce, Gaylan's Fireball CD RE OA OAJ NF CGC (Anita Lupcho) placed 4th in the Novice Obedience Division. Bounce was also on the 2nd place obedience team, with his sister, Zahra and Betsy Scappichio's Chloe and placed 8th in the Combined Obedience-Rally Competition.
  • Trader, OTCH Gaylan's Tradewind O'ertheDoone UDX4 OM3 MX MXJ XF ODHF CCA (Sandy Washburn) took 2nd and 3rd in the last two classes, giving him 10th place overall in 24" Agility.
  • Jig, Gaylan's Irish Ceili Dancer OA OAJ XF O-NAC O-NCC O-NJC O-TN-N TG-N O-WV-N (Sandy Ziemski) placed 12th in 24" Agility.
• Scorch, Gaylan's Rimfire SH WC (Maggie Lukiewicz) came home with his third orange ribbon in Master Hunt tests.
• Chex, Gaylan's Party of One SH MX MXJ CCA WCX CGC (Marcy Burke) earned another QQ in agility.
• Dart, Gaylan's Fly Like the Wind JH AX MXJ WC OD CCA (Lise Pratt) earned her second QQ, which gave her four MX legs now.
• Gibbs, Gaylan's S.P.ARKLER of Gold CGC (Terrie Leafstedt) entered Wild Card Novice and scored a 196 1/2 each day.
• Gayle and Dreamer, Gaylan's Dreamcatcher are featured in this coverage of Gayle's dog training classes. Dreamer is the only golden featured in the video.
• We want to send huge congratulations out to my brother, Bill Watkins, who competed in the USA Cycling 2010 Masters Road Nationals in Louisville, KY this past weekend. Bill took 4th in the Criterium, 9th in the Road Race and 13th in the Time Trial (with a broken toe clip :-( )! Not bad for an old guy, as only your loving YOUNGER sister can say :-).

• NEW QUALIFIED ALL-AGE DOG! Brita, Gaylan's Water Dancer of Emeline CDX SH AX AXJ RN WCX CCA VCX*** CGC TDI (Mary Hilderbrandt) became Qualified All-Aged by taking 2nd place in the Western NY Qualifying Stake. Brita was owner trained and handled. She is Mary's second *** dog, as well as the second Gaylan's bitch to earn this prestigious title. Congratulations to this fabulous team!!!
• NEW CANADIAN WORKING CERTIFICATE AND WORKING CERTIFICATE INTERMEDIATE! Punch, Gaylan's You Quack Me Up Can. WCI passed her both Canadian WC and WCI!

• Shiloh, Gaylan's Drummer Boy MH MX MXJ RE WCX VCX CCA (Linda Lowy) passed another Master Hunt test as a bumper qualification for the 2010 Master National Hunt test.
• Dice, Can GMH OTCH Gaylan's High Roller Am CD WCX CCA; Can TD WCX VCX (Pam Martin) earned his second American Master Hunter leg in as many tests.
• Journey, Gaylan's Rainbow Promise Parfait AX OAJ (Dana Bourassa) earned her first QQ, with a 3rd in JWW, and picked up another JWW for her second MX and first two MXJ legs.
• We join Nancy and John Miner in mourning the loss of 15 1/2 year old Rooster, High Times Run'n the Roost UD MH WCX OS*** from complications from a stroke. We are proud to have known this great dog and included him in our breeding program; he sired our Gambling, Irish and Ice Cream litters. Godspeed, Rooster!

Dexter, Gaylan's Duck Creek Wild Turkey RN NA NAJ CGC TDI (Zoe Beatty) entered his second weekend of agility and finished his NAJ title with a 1st place, earned his first OA leg with a 1st place and his first NF leg with a 2nd place. He then dashed home to take and pass the AKC's CGC and TDI's therapy dog tests.

Whew! Charlee has earned all of her titles and the AKC VCD1 title since March.

• NEW RALLY EXCELLENT! Makai, MACH2 U-CD Gaylan's Wind Off the Water CDX RE TQX TD (Gail Kraeuter) finished her Rally Excellent title, including earning a 1st place and earned another agility QQ with a 4th place in JWW and another MXJ leg with a 4th place.
• Goose, MACH Can CH Gaylan's Born to Fly SH WCX OS VC CCA earned his first UKC Seasoned Hunting dog leg.
• Trip, HR UH Gaylan's Safari Traxx NA OAJ (Paula Cauley) passed two more AKC Senior Hunter tests. One more to go for this young dog's title. He has passed all 12 AKC and UKC tests that he has entered at the "Senior" level. Pretty impressive for a dog that hasn't even turned two yet.

• NEW OPEN AGILITY JUMPERS! His third weekend in agility, Tux, Gaylan's Fireside Affair JH NA OAJ WCX CGC (Chris Marinelli) finished his OAJ title with a 3rd place, earned his first Open STD leg with a 3rd place and earned his second Novice Fast leg with a 1st place.
• NEW COMPANION DOG! Dice, Can GMH OTCH Gaylan's High Roller Am CD WCX; Can TD WCX VCX (Pam Martin) finished his American CD this weekend with a 198 and a run-off for High in Trial with Pam's other new CD, Cajun. Both dogs then went on to earn their first CDX legs this weekend with 1st and 2nd places. Congratulations to Pam for both boys' success. Dice ended this winter's obedience season by completing all three Canadian titles and is halfway to his Canadian OTCHX and three-quarters of the way to his MOTCH. Now, back to the field!

His UD also gave him a Canadian OTCH title.

    • NEW CANADIAN COMPANION DOG EXCELLENT AND VERSATILITY CERTIFICATE EXCELLENT! Dice, Can GMH Gaylan's High Roller Can CDX TD WCX VCX Am WCX (Pam Martin) finished his Canadian Companion Dog Excellent in short order, going 4 for 4 with scores from 196 to 198.5. His CDX gave him enough points for the Canadian GRC's Versatility Certificate Excellent.
    • NEW NOVICE AGILITY! Chase, Gaylan's Free Run Chardonnay JH NA NAJ WC CCA (Blanche Wisniewski & Carol Stepczuk) finished her Novice Agility title with a 2nd place.
    • NEW COMPANION DOG! Bounce, Gaylan's Fireball CD RE NA OAJ CGC (Anita Lupcho) finished his CD title in three trials with three 1sts and scores of 195.5 and 198!
    • NEW EXCELLENT FAST! Tango, UH HR Gaylan's One Step Atta Time UD SH MX MXJ XF RE WCX CGC (Pat and Randy McKinney) was on fire this weekend, qualifying in 5 of 6 classes to complete her Excellent FAST title, earn her first Master FAST leg, her 9th QQ and her first QQQ! Wow!.
    • Trader, OTCH Gaylan's Tradewind O'ertheDoone UDX4 OM3 MX MXJ XF ODHF CCA (Sandy Washburn) earned his 6th QQ (with a 2nd in Std and a 3rd place in JWW), another 3rd in Exc JWW and 60 more MACH points.
    • Word has it that Kite, Gaylan's Dancing in the Wind MX MXJ TDX CCA CGC (Blanche Wisniewski and Carol Stepczuk) ran beautifully this weekend and earned two more Qs in Exc B.
    • Dart, Gaylan's Fly Like the Wind JH AX AXJ CCA WCX (Lise Pratt) returned to the ring after a long absence and earned her 7th MXJ leg.
    • Bang, Gaylan's Fire When Ready TD JH OA OAJ OF RN WC (Pat Kavanagh) earned his second AX leg with a 1st place. He also has two AXJ legs.
    • Catcher, Gaylan's Catch a Rising Star (Sandy Washburn) debuted in agility and earned two NAJ legs with two 1st placements and blazing times.
    • Punch, Gaylan's You Quack Me Up (Jill Brown) took 2nd place in Novice Dock Dog.
